Luminex Corporation in Den Bosch has been working with Uniglobe Alliance Travel in Arnhem for more than a decnnium. The company operates in the world of biotechnology and offers a wide range of solutions applicable in clinical diagnostics, biomedical and genomic research and food safety, among others.
Since 2015, Daniëlle Buitenhuis has been working as Management Assistant EMEA within the Dutch branch of Luminex Corporation. In this role, Buitenhuis supports the management team, organizes international training sessions and prepares business trips in relation to current travel restrictions. "We enable laboratories to get reliable answers quickly, with the ultimate goal of improving health," says Buitenhuis. "For example, our technologies are used in testing whether someone has or has had coronavirus."
For the Den Bosch office, it traveled abroad to clients or conferences in Europe, the Middle East and Africa until the early 2020s. "The company was founded in 1995 in Austin, Texas," Buitenhuis continued. "Colleagues fly to headquarters for training and meetings." Currently, Dutch employees fly primarily for service-oriented trips within Europe. "For example, for installations of our systems or maintenance of them."
Decade
In corona time, travel was sporadic in the first few months. "We closely followed developments in travel options. Based in part on Uniglobe's travel recommendations, several air trips within Europe were made." Buitenhuis expects as many
will be traveling as before. "Installation and service of our equipment will still be required, as well as occasional visits to headquarters. We do continue to use video calling, our employees will continue to work partially from home rather than completely in the office."
The first time a colleague traveled to customers in Denmark and Sweden under all applicable coronary restrictions was especially exciting, according to Buitenhuis. "Were the travel reasons and curfew statements complete enough or would the test results in Sweden before departure home be in on time? Nevertheless, with this trip it turned out that travel opportunities were fortunately available again."
According to Buitenhuis, Uniglobe's professionals have been providing their customer-focused service to the company with complete satisfaction for more than a decade. "It is always pleasant to be in contact with the regular team. It is reassuring to know that our business travelers are in good hands. Caring, committed and friendly. I would say; on to another decade in our partnership!"
