eTraveletc: the Uniglobe climate projects for 2022

The Uniglobe climate projects for 2022

eTraveletc. #1 January 2022

Sustainable business travel: please! But how?
Sustainability has been a topic high on the agenda within our organization and with many of our customers for years. To facilitate and encourage sustainable business travel, last year we entered into a partnership with Anthesis, one of the leading organizations in the field of climate change and climate compensation.

How can I make my business travel more sustainable through Uniglobe?

Uniglobe's partnership with Anthesis allows your organization to easily calculate and offset the CO2 emissions of all business travel. On every quote the CO2 emissions of the trip will be shown. If the trip is booked, the calculated CO2 emissions are not only shown on the invoice, but also in the Management Reports.

The amounts associated with CO2 offsets can be invested in a mix of Anthesis climate projects in different countries. In this way, your organization can also directly offset the CO2 emissions from business travel in an accessible way. This way you benefit from the Anthesis compensation contract of Uniglobe and you do not have to conclude a contract with Anthesis yourself. Very easy!

In which climate projects does Uniglobe compensate?

1: Cookstove projects

More than a third of the world's population cooks daily on open fires. This releases harmful smoke that kills millions of people and also leaves a bad mark on the climate. Cookstove projects (mainly in Africa and Asia) are helping to fight deforestation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve people's health. With the smart design, these cookstoves 40-60% use less wood and produce less smoke.

2: Forest projects

Forests play a fundamental role in mitigating climate change by removing and storing CO2 from the atmosphere. Once trees are cut down, the stored CO2 is released back into the atmosphere. To protect these ecosystems, preserve biodiversity and store CO2, various forest projects around the world are part of this mix. With the goal: protection, restoration & planting.

3: Renewable energy projects

Through this climate project, you support energy projects such as small-scale wind, hydroelectric and solar farms. These will provide remote (rural) areas in Africa or Asia, for example, with clean energy without greenhouse gas emissions. The wind farms provide energy security for the population, reduce CO2 emissions and stimulate the local infrastructure.
