This time in "Meet the team" we would like to introduce Merel to you. Merel has been a Business Travel Consultant with us since 2018 and officially certified as a Business Travel Specialist! We ask her some questions about her work, favorite destinations, hobbies and more!
How long have you worked for UNIGLOBE and how did you get into this profession?
" I have been working for Uniglobe since 2018. I used to want to work in travel when I was a little girl. I even played travel agent with old tickets and other travel documents. "
What is your own favorite destination?
" My favorite destination is Lanzarote, not too far flying and a destination with sun certainty (most of the time then). We go on vacation there about twice a year. A nice in between vacation. One of the nicest trips we've made otherwise was to Vietnam and Jordan. "
What are your hobbies?
" My favorite hobby is obviously traveling, besides that cryptogram is likes, we have an organic vegetable garden and a DIY house. However, I can also be wonderfully lazy without any guilt. "
What do you like about your work?
" What I like about my work is the variety, the contact with customers and suppliers, providing a good service with beautiful bookings and satisfied customers as a result. "
Can you tell us about a complex booking you did have to make or a special wish of a traveler?
" Complex bookings I have certainly made, but to single one out like that? I did once have a request from grandparents who were going to Tel Aviv with their grandchildren, if the flight time could be adjusted so that the children could go to bed on time. I have also had the occasional request that business class arrive earlier than economy class. "
