Meet the Team: Jeanine Vermue

What is your personal motto?

I have several:

  • Life should be celebrated;
  • Don't sweat the small stuff;
  • A clean house is a sign of a wasted life.

What is the most unique thing you have experienced/done while working?

I remember those were turbulent times because of the ash cloud resulting from the volcanic eruption in Iceland. We had to switch gears constantly and flights were canceled at every turn. There was little availability on the flights, but when it worked out, it was very satisfying.

I remember one particular incident well. This involved a traveler who was scheduled to fly from the Netherlands to Brazil. The flight was cancelled at the very last moment. The customer was travelling by car and then drove to Brussels, because there was a flight leaving from there where I could still book a seat for him. When this flight was also cancelled, I was able to book a flight from Paris for the gentleman. But you guessed it: this flight was also canceled! In the end, Sir flew to Brazil from Portugal and left his car in Portugal. A while later I was allowed to book a one-way ticket to Portugal, because yes sir was of course still forced to pick up his car there.

What do you get the most energy from in your work?

I get the most energy from the feeling that you can really add value and that this is also appreciated by the customer. You come up with a solution they couldn't have thought of themselves.

What is your ultimate travel tip for business travelers?
