What is the most unique thing you have experienced/done while working?
Surely the most bizarre moment was when the whole world was turned upside down by the corona virus. All flights were suddenly grounded in March/April 2020 and we had to rush to get all our travelers back home. The inconvenient part of this was that once you had rebooked a traveler, the flight was often canceled as well. As a result, it sometimes took some time before a traveler was finally back home. When the peace and quiet of changing, canceling and requesting vouchers had returned a bit, it was a good feeling that we had completed this huge job together. Oh, and the best part of my Uniglobe career is all the trips we have been able to take together; Paris, Bad Gastein, Sevilla & Ibiza!
What do you get the most energy from in your work?
That different things come your way every day, this is what makes it so challenging and varied. You are involved with all facets of travel. From booking simple return trips and processing last minute changes, to booking complicated trips, complete with flights, hotels and car rentals. Finally, also definitely having fun in the office with my colleagues gives me a lot of energy!
What is your ultimate travel tip for business travelers?
Be well prepared. Check your flight schedule and any requirements for a country: for example, do you need a visa? In addition, always read up on the customs and culture of a country. And last but not least; get to the airport on time!
