What is the most unique thing you have experienced/done while working?
Surely the best memories I have are of the study tours I have had the privilege of taking. From a day in Milan with a delicious lunch to a trip through Florida, where we went canoeing and took an airboat ride in Seminole County. Or that wonderful trip to China, where I got to visit the panda reserve in Chengdu and hiked on the Great Wall of China. In 1 word fantastic! Being busy booking trips for clients (or myself!) still makes me love my job after 25 years!
What do you get the most energy from in your work?
The hectic pace, the sometimes hours of puzzling, happy clients, beautiful and sometimes not so beautiful stories, the dynamics between colleagues and the variety make that I have been doing this work with heart and soul for so many years.
What is your ultimate travel tip for business travelers?
Prepare well. Read up before you go anywhere, especially if you have never been there before. Make sure you are aware of the documents you need to travel. Leave for the airport on time: missing a flight can mess up your entire travel schedule! In addition to your business appointment(s), make a conscious effort to enjoy everything that is different from home. Traveling abroad remains a luxury!
