Wisely traveling in Corona time

Adapting to these Corona times is challenging for everyone, even more so when traveling between countries with different measures. In addition to organizing your business trips, we also look ahead with you as much as possible regarding the possibilities and/or restrictions within airlines or destinations, so that you are not faced with any surprises.

If you have a trip planned, we naturally also recommend that you prepare well and familiarize yourself with the Local rules. In this blog, we have compiled a number of tips and points to consider for you, so that you can travel carefree even during these extraordinary times.

Before departure

  • Before you depart for the airport, download your boarding pass to your phone to ensure as much contactless travel as possible.
  • Travel with a small piece of hand luggage that easily fits under the seat in front of you.
  • Ensure you have enough face masks in your hand luggage. Also, check if the airline or your destination has other regulations, such as the use of medical face masks.
  • Provide a personal health declaration every time you fly. Download here the form and print it twice. Fill out the outbound flight form before you leave home. Fill out the second form when you travel back. You must carry this form with you throughout your trip and be able to show it upon request at Schiphol, on the plane, and at your destination airport.

At the airport

  • From the moment you enter the airport in the Netherlands, you are required to wear a face mask. You may only temporarily take it off if you are eating or drinking something.
  • Follow the instructions at the airport carefully and maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from other travelers and staff.
  • Scan your boarding pass at the gate and show your passport.
  • Many airlines currently use the following rule for boarding: passengers in the back rows board first, and they gradually move towards the front. Passengers in the front rows board last.
  • A large number of lounges at Schiphol are open with modified service to ensure 1.5-meter distancing.

During the flight

  • Vrijwel alle luchtvaartmaatschappijen werken aan boord met Hepa filters, deze zuiveren voor 99,99% de lucht.
  • Also wear your face mask on board. Here too, you may temporarily remove it if you eat or drink something.
  • The newspapers and magazines on long-haul flights are currently unavailable. In their place, many airlines offer a digital alternative.

Upon arrival

  • When exiting the aircraft, we will proceed from front to back. This means passengers in the front rows will deplane first, and we will work our way toward the back. Passengers in the rear rows will deplane last.
  • Also wear your mask at the destination airport if it is required.
  • Familiarize yourself with the local rules at your destination. You can find more information about this in measures blog.
