This time in "Meet the team" we would like to introduce Esmee to you. Esmee has been a Business Travel Consultant since 2017 and officially certified by us as a Business Travel Specialist! We ask her some questions about her work, favorite destinations, hobbies and more!
How long have you worked for UNIGLOBE and how did you get into this profession?
"I have been working for UNIGLOBE Alliance Travel since 2017. After I received my degree in the summer of 2013, I knew I wanted to work within the business travel industry. This is because during my studies I had two internships at different business travel agencies. Because in 2013 the economy was not doing so well in the Netherlands, finding a job was quite a task. After all, companies were cutting back on business travel. Fortunately, I was still able to get a job in Amsterdam that same summer. "
What is your own favorite destination?
" I really like going to Sicily. "
What are your hobbies?
" Horseback riding and attending festivals are my hobbies. "
What do you like about your work?
" I really like the dynamic fast-paced world we work in, no day is the same. Every day there is a change. Delicious. Working with the customer to figure out which flight schedule suits him or her best is a sport to me. And then to also find the cheapest flight makes it complete. Complicated routes, multiple destinations, it is sometimes very puzzling to make it as suitable as possible and I really enjoy that! "
Can you tell us about a complex booking you did have to make or a special wish of a traveler?
" One of the complex bookings last year was a round-the-world trip I picked for a client. This involved two travelers starting their trip with a 'round-the-world ticket. The other only flew part of it. This is a fun puzzle where you want to match up as much as possible. For example, the same arrival time in a different continent for all business travelers. When in the end everything is appropriate, that is a crowning achievement in my opinion. "
Why do you think a company should work with Alliance Travel?
" Companies should work with us because we work with small teams, because of this we offer a personalized service. We are not a big call center. Because of this, we know our customers well and can provide the service that suits them. "
