About Anthesis<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Your GreenSeat allowance is invested in projects of Anthesis. A social venture with the goal of making organizations climate neutral. Over the past fifteen years, Anthesis has become the market leader in the Benelux. This position is due to its extensive knowledge and experience in the field of reduction and compensation of CO2<\/sub>-emissions. Anthesis invests in renewable energy projects that reduce CO2<\/sub>-emissions and contribute to local communities. Anthesis' projects are monitored according to the guidelines of strict, independent parties, such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Gold Standard.<\/p>\n

What is climate-neutral flying?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Climate neutral flying is offsetting the harmful emissions of all greenhouse gases caused by flying by investing in renewable energy projects. With GreenSeat by Anthesis, all greenhouse gas emissions, including CO\u2082, are automatically calculated for every flight booking you make. The cost for offsetting is then included by default on the traveler's bill. That money is then invested in sustainable energy projects that also make a positive contribution to local people in developing countries in terms of employment, education and better living conditions.<\/p>\n

How much does it cost to offset emissions from my air travel?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Based on your flight history, Anthesis can estimate the carbon offset per year. This is automatically calculated by a flight calculator. The tonnage and amount are displayed on your bill and, if you choose, actually compensated. The CO\u2082 rate averages between 1% and 3% of the ticket price. However, the amount also depends on the number of miles flown, whether you fly nonstop or transfer.<\/p>\n

What does a ton of CO<\/strong>\u2082<\/strong>\u00a0out?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

1 ton of CO\u2082 emissions equals:<\/p>\n

  • 319 liters of diesel burned;<\/li>\n
  • Traveling 25,000 kilometers by train;<\/li>\n
  • 500 days of breathing;<\/li>\n
  • Consuming 300 pounds of standard office paper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Anthesis guarantees that the projects will actually reduce CO2<\/sub> in the atmosphere. Verification is done by independent, internationally recognized agencies. They verify that projects meet precisely defined rules. These rules are called standards. Uniglobe Travel consolidates CO\u2082 emissions from flights standard for all its customers through a VCS Redd+ forest project certified by Anthesis. The project contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals\u00a0<\/strong>of the United Nations and is certified to the highest possible international, verified standards.<\/p>\n

    The VCS standard is the most widely used label in the field of CO2<\/sub>-compensation. VCS stands for Voluntary Carbon Standard. The label guarantees direct investments in climate projects in less developed countries. In addition, this standard is used to determine whether a sustainable project is reducing emissions.<\/p>\n

    How can my company travel greener?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Is the train better than flying? Greener travel is more than just offsetting emissions, of course. If you really want to travel green, then choosing a greener means of transportation is also important. If the traveler has options (for example, the choice between airplane or train) then you can choose to choose the means of transportation that produces the least emissions. When it comes to flying, one can emit less CO\u2082 by choosing a direct connection. If you fly a lot and this cannot be avoided, you can take a critical look at the organization's mobility. Perhaps there is much climate gain to be made on business, and commuting by road. Whatever means of transport you choose, they almost always emit CO\u2082. It is therefore important to offset the rest of the CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n

    Sure! You will receive a comprehensive report from us and a certificate from Anthesis as proof of the CO2<\/sub>-emissions. You can use the report to reshape your travel policy. You can also use the certificate for accountability and internal and external communication.<\/p>\n

    Sustainable Travel Headlines<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    • United Airlines<\/strong>\u00a0recently launched the unique Eco-Skies Alliance Program. Through this program, companies and passengers can contribute to more sustainable jet fuel and reduce CO2-<\/sub>making aviation neutral. United is the first U.S. airline to make it possible for individual customers to purchase SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).<\/li>\n
    • The\u00a0Dutch regional airports<\/strong>\u00a0Rotterdam Airport, Groningen Airport and Eindhoven Airport are participating in a \"Power Up\" trial, through which they plan to launch electric passenger airline flights within the Netherlands within five years. This is a small-scale trial supported by the Schiphol Group and the Netherlands Aerospace Center (NLR).<\/li>\n
    • Schiphol Airport<\/strong>\u00a0is making increasing use of solar panels. For example, the roof of garage P3 is now covered with solar panels, which provide power to P3.
