Nothing is impossible for the Business Consultants at Uniglobe Alliance Travel!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With our team, we always go out of our way to help our travelers plan complicated trips and assist with any changes, emergencies or repatriation. In 2019, we received a request, which provides a great example for a trip that went differently than expected or planned.<\/p>\n

Every year one of our regular customers visits a missionary couple in Greenland. Greenland has several airports that are flown into from Amsterdam, but this time the client's final destination is Tasiilaq. This city is located on Ammassalik Island in the Sermersooq Municipality, in southeastern Greenland. Tasiilaq does not have a regular airport but only a ''heliport'<\/em>. This means that this destination can only be flown by helicopter. You can probably imagine that this is not a regular route and that it takes some time to reach this destination. For this group of 8 people with a mountain of luggage, one of our consultants ended up booking the following itinerary:<\/p>\n

But then the weather turned...<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In Greenland, the weather is unpredictable and the country often experiences severe snowstorms. On the day the group was scheduled to fly back, severe weather broke out, canceling all flights and leaving the group stuck at Tasiilaq for an additional two days.<\/p>\n

On the new return date, the weather turned again and one of the travelers additionally received the sad news that a family member had died in the Netherlands and this traveler had to go home immediately. Every hour our specialists closely monitored the flights to book the first possible flight home for this traveler. After three days, the weather improved which meant that there were finally opportunities for this company again and we booked the first possible flight combination home.<\/p>\n
